Far right politician Nick Griffin is to give up politics and undergo a gender reassignment operation, writes Crispin Fisher.
At a meeting of the BNP’s executive committee Griffin claimed he had become disillusioned with politics and wanted to make a fresh start as a woman.
Since his disastrous appearance on Question Time last year, Griffin has been fighting to cling on to his position as leader of the BNP, but the constant battling has finally taken its toll.
A member of the executive committee who didn’t want to be named said: “It was clear Nick has reached the end of his tether.
“He flopped out his manhood and twanged it, pointing to it’s limp form as it came to a rest and said ‘look at this. Useless. I might as well get rid of it. What’s the point?’”
News of Griffin’s imminent sex change did not come as a shock to former party member Dave Johnson.
He said: “I’ve travelled all over with Nick on the campaign trail and he always had his head buried in Cosmo magazine.
“Many was the night we used to soak in a long bath, then wrap ourselves up in fluffy dressing gowns and eat Maltesers while we watched the X Factor.
“He was a sucker for a nice glass of rose wine too.”
Griffin – who is to be renamed Nikki – will not officially relinquish his post as a European MP until he has taken advantage of the free health care services available to executive members.
His last public appearance as a man is likely to be later this month when he attends a book signing event at Harrods, London, to launch his autobiography ‘Enough of the Bollocks’.

Transgirl
April 9, 2011
Hmmm….think you’ll find that the BNP and other far-right organisations are as much against people for being trans as they are against people for their sexuality, colour of their skin, race, culture or politics. In fact, one telling feature of the far-right is that they can probably be defined as much as by whom they are against (which usually encompasses the majority of us) as by whom they are for. Another characteristic is that they have a tendency to hold extremely sexist views about gender roles. Although, sadly, that’s all-too-often a characteristic that’s shared by some of those who claim to be their opponents too.
