The Prime Minister’s disappointment at record UK unemployment figures was tempered today when he was presented with a Services to Daytime TV award.
“Thanks to the economic policy rigorously pursued by Mr Cameron and his ministers, daytime TV viewing figures have never been healthier,” said award organiser Jan Morton.
“Mr Cameron has single-handedly given the daytime TV industry a huge shot in the arm. We’ve not only got more unemployed bums on seats in living rooms up and down the country, but the continued drop in living standards and slow collapse of society has doubled the number of sad dysfunctional no-hopers now queuing up to appear on The Jeremy Kyle Show.”
Mr Cameron is reportedly delighted at his honour from the Cash4Gold Daytime Telly awards and has promised to continue to support this growing UK sector.
A spokesman for the PM said: “Mr Cameron hopes to add at least one more to the daytime viewing audience by the end of the day with the sacking of defence secretary Liam Fox. You get two for the price of one with that one: another daytime TV viewer and a great dysfunctional guest for The Jeremy Kyle Show.”
