TV rights to screen the consummation of Kate Middleton and Prince William’s marriage has been won by the Playboy TV adult channel, it was revealed today.
“It’s a fantastic coup for the company and our many thousands of loyal, and royal, viewers,” said Playboy TV’s chief executive Miles Peterson announcing the £10million deal this afternoon.
“Our promise to shoot the moment the marriage is consummated with dignity and respect clinched the deal. We’re absolutely overjoyed.”
Playboy TV managed to hold off stiff competition from rivals Television X and Red Hot TV who offered more money for the exclusive rights, but their bid was rejected by the House of Windsor on grounds of taste.
“We will spend at least five minutes setting the scene,” said Mr Peterson. “Building up the atmosphere with a long lingering shots of Kate in the shower before the couple fall into each others arms and get down to business.
“The event will be shot in soft focus with strains of Phil Collins’ In the Air Tonight acting as soundtrack. The story is as much a part of the experience as the sex act itself.”
Wham Bam Thank You Ma’am will be screened live on Friday from 10pm with highlights repeated via subscription on Playboy TV on an hourly loop for the next two weeks.
