Police have issued this striking image of a man they believe abducted a boy from under the nose of his parents.

Nicknamed ‘The Snowman’, the suspect is thought to have crept into an 11-year-old boy’s room last Christmas Eve at the stroke of midnight.

The (very) white male with an orange for a nose took the boy – who was still in his pyjamas – on a brief flight before returning him apparently unhurt several hours later.

For legal reasons The News Grind can refer to the boy only as ‘James’.

In a sick series of stunts the abducter rifled through wardrobes in a bedroom as the boy’s parents slept just feet away.

He tried on a wide-brimmed hat belonging to the boy’s mother and even paused to grimace at the child while wearing a set of his father’s false teeth.

The Snowman crept into James’ parents’ room, then wreaked havoc in a playroom, before raiding the kitchen fridge.

Continuing his rampage, he took James out on his dad’s motorbike, racing around the countryside at break-neck speed near their rural home, scaring wild animals.

The Snowman then whisked his victim to a party where other ‘Snowmen’ were enjoying booze and dancing.

Police are also keen to speak to a large elderly man with a bushy grey beard. The red-suited ringleader gave James a scarf as a gift and could hold the key to the whole investigation.

A spokesman for Hampshire police said: “This is a particularly worrying case.

“Luckily we have eyewitnesses as other children gazed, open-mouthed, as the adbucter made off holding James’ hand.

“If anyone recognises this man, they must call us. No-one can just vanish without a trace the minute the sun comes up.”
