This exclusive photo shows Princess Beatrice in her new role as the fifth Teletubby, sporting the fascinator she wore at the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
The 22-year-old’s headpiece – designed by Philip Treacy – was a talking point of the fairytale day, almost stealing the limelight from royal bridesmaid Pippa Middleton’s rear.
Beatrice, who continues a tradition of comedy royalty started by her mother Sarah Ferguson, will star in the return of the Teletubbies.
She is rumoured to have seen off competition from Lady Gaga to land the coveted role after the musician insisted on appearing in the show dressed in the turned out hide of a bear.
The princess plays Bea-Bea, a mauve-coloured Teletubby with a snorty laugh and the most elaborate head gear in the revived children’s entertainment show’s history.
And she wasted no time in publicising her new role by previewing her look at the royal wedding.
In confirming her move into TV Beatrice put to bed rumours her hat was a portable TV aerial or mobile toilet.
