Raoul Moat’s face found on Greggs pasty

Thousands are flocking to a bakery in Newcastle after the face of killer gunman Raoul Moat appeared on a pasty.

The ‘miracle’ was discovered on a freshly baked meat and potato lunchtime special at a Greggs in Birtley by local baker Tom Porter who has been inundated with Moat worshippers ever since

Hundreds of people descended on the family pie shop within days of word getting out of the incredible discovery.

Crowds of believers with cameras, flowers and candles have been holding a vigil outside the shop. Many have come hoping to be blessed by the pasty.

One such couple is Dave and Angela Smith, of Gateshead, who were hoping to have their newborn Mer-Sadie Beardsley touched by the crust of Moat.

“The baby is just a week old,” said unemployed Dave, 25. “We thought we’d come out to pray to the pasty and maybe have our girl blessed by the man who found it.”

Others visibly shaken by the pasty face apparition believe it is a sign that something bad will happen.

The diocese of the area said it would study the case, but insisted it was not yet ready to label it a miracle

But as the church dithers, other have stepped forward to claim the pie as their own.

The Church of Raoul, a religious order set up for the 30,000 Facebook fans cast adrift when their tribute page was closed down, believe this latest sighting is proof positive of Moat’s divinity.

Reverend Craig Dimple, an outspoken Moatist, said: “If the inspirational life story of our steroid ingesting legend is not enough to convince, then surely his face cast in a folded pie puts his magnificence beyond question.

“30,000 Facebook followers can’t be wrong. There’s been more gathering here and laying flowers at his home than you get at church in a month of Sundays.”

This is the third reported Moat apparition with the killer bouncer’s face being spotted in a kebab and Bigg Market vomit splash in the last four days alone.
