Tech start-up Astonish! Microsystems’ David Legand bullishly predicted ‘enormous growth opportunities’ for his California SME today, writes Hard Jackson.
Legand sees revenues at A!M increasing year-on-year and brand equity expanding exponentially – but has been troubled by what he termed as “a kind of stultifyingly horrifying glimpse of a chasm of nothingness” that leading the Palo Alto corporation has afforded him.
“This goes beyond existential angst,” confided Legand. “It’s more like the acme of some sort of abstraction of evil made tangible.”
Legand says that he believes the shocking mundanity of what his life has become has led him to a kind of metaphysical portal from which there is no return.
“It’s a bit like when a fish is on land,” said Legand, his eyes clouding over into a deep, inky black.
“Before there was only water – the fish could never comprehend of another world so close by that could hold such appalling and wonderful sights,” enthused Legand, as light began to emerge from each bodily orifice.
“When I was a child I dreamed of making hot air balloons. Now I examine growth strategies, sense check expansion ideas, leverage strategies across a dozen channels and align business tracks.”
“Set against that back-drop, a manifestation of pure malevolence seeping into every pore of my body doesn’t seem quite so bad,” chuckled Legand, sipping on a double espresso.
