David Beckham is to undergo a sex-change operation in a desperate bid to keep his World Cup dream alive, it was revealed last night.
The 34-year-old LA Galaxy star hopes a complex eight-hour male to female sex reassignment operation will secure his eligibility to play for England in the Women’s World Cup finals.
Beckham has been undergoing hormone replacement therapy since he was ruled out of the World Cup finals after rupturing his Achilles tendon while on loan at AC Milan.
Now he hopes to break into the England Ladies team as they prepare for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Germany next year.

In a short statement released last night, Beckham said the removal of his testicles and inversion of his penis to form a fully sensate vagina was a small price to pay to “keep the dream alive.”
“It’s every footballer’s dream to play in the World Cup,” he said, “and at 34 this may be my last chance to win international honours on a global stage.
“Most footballers would give their right arm to represent their country. I’m taking things to the next level. What’s the loss of my gonads and the mutilation of my penis, when compared to the joy of performing in the greatest competition of them all, albeit the ladies’ version?”
While big name brands Gillette (razors) and Armani (underpants) have threatened to pull their sponsorship deals with the former England football captain, Wonderbra is believed to be waiting in the wings with a multi-million dollar offer.
